2. Can I use the RackTent as a regular roof rack?

Yes! The RackTent functions as a fully usable roof rack platform when closed, allowing you to carry gear like bikes, kayaks, or luggage while the tent remains hidden inside.

3. Will the RackTent fit my vehicle?

We offer models designed to fit a variety of vehicles. However, if your vehicle is not listed, we may still need to measure its roof mounting points and angles. Contact us at alfred@batcaveoutdoors to schedule a measuring session. First-time buyers for each vehicle type receive a $300 discount.

4. Does the tent need to be removed to close the RackTent?

No, but the mattress must be removed before closing due to the ultra-thin design. This ensures the tent remains compact while maintaining its functionality as a roof rack.

5. What materials is the RackTent made of?

The tent enclosure is made of aluminium, ensuring strength and durability. The tent fabric is made from Somerton Acrylic, a solution-dyed acrylic that offers high resistance to UV exposure, exceptional color brightness, and water repellency. This premium material is commonly used for outdoor furniture, awnings, and sunblinds, making it perfect for rugged outdoor conditions.

6. What is the weight of the RackTent?

The RackTent weighs approximately 50kg, though this may vary depending on the vehicle. Larger vehicles may have slightly heavier RackTent models to ensure a secure and proper fit.

7. How is the RackTent secured to my vehicle?

The RackTent is mounted using the vehicle’s roof mounting points and is designed to work with a backbone-style rack system for maximum stability and load distribution.

8. What are the available customization options?

You can customize your RackTent with:

• Different base designs tailored to various vehicle types
• Powder-coated color options for the base and top
• Multiple fabric color choices for the tent enclosure

9. Can the tent enclosure be replaced or customized?

Yes! The tent itself is removable via zippers, allowing you to swap it out for new designs or colors whenever you like.
